We are looking for a Software Architect / Technical Lead to join one of our product teams in Málaga, working in a hybrid setup. In this role, you will represent the Architecture function within a medium‑to‑large agile team, helping to solve architectural challenges, guiding technical direction, and ensuring solutions meet high standards for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
You will work closely with the Principal Architect, product teams, DevOps, and UI/UX, while also contributing to technical strategy, mentoring senior engineers, and supporting customer‑facing activities when needed.

Join Verisk Specialty Business Solutions as a Software Architect / Technical Lead in Málaga (hybrid model). You’ll play a key role in shaping the architecture of complex, cloud‑native insurance and reinsurance platforms while remaining hands-on with modern technologies such as C#, .NET Core, Kubernetes, AWS, Angular, PostgreSQL, OAuth/OpenID and Copilot.
- Extensive experience in software engineering with strong architectural ownership (Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar preferred).
- Solid knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and modern agile development practices.
- Strong expertise in object‑oriented design, design patterns, and scalable system architecture.
- Proven experience designing and operating multi‑tier / N‑tier production systems.
- Deep understanding of performance, scalability, and system monitoring.
- Strong ability to produce and maintain technical documentation (architecture, application and database design).
- Ability to provide reliable high‑level and low‑level estimates and perform technical risk analysis.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred technical experience:
- C# / .NET Core
- AWS and containerised environments with Kubernetes
- OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect
- PostgreSQL and relational data modelling
- Angular and collaboration with frontend/UI teams
- Experience using Copilot or similar tools to improve developer productivity while maintaining high code quality
- Design and evolve architecture for complex, component‑based and cloud‑native applications.
- Champion non‑functional requirements such as scalability, performance, resiliency, security, and operational cost awareness.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, contributing to code and leading by example.
- Lead technical design sessions and coordinate with central architecture and engineering teams.
- Mentor Senior Software Engineers and other Technical Leads, supporting their growth toward architectural roles.
- Drive effective code reviews and promote high engineering standards across the team.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap, including technical debt reduction, upgrades, and platform improvements.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to understand and improve CI/CD pipelines and development efficiency.
- Work with UI/UX teams to assess feasibility of proposed solutions and suggest technically viable alternatives.
- Provide high‑level and detailed estimates, validate assumptions, and perform risk analysis.
- Support customer interactions such as pre‑sales discussions, technical advice, and estimations.
- Lead proofs of concept for new tools, technologies, and cloud solutions, providing clear recommendations.
- Act as a technical escalation point and provide senior‑level support when required.
- Step in as a backup for the Principal Architect when needed.
