Position Summary...
The H&W Pharmacy and Vision Data Lake requires transformation to support long-term business strategy needs, as it currently consists of fragmented raw tables lacking reconciliation and delta logic. These must be rationalized into consistent, trusted catalog assets through collaboration with upstream system architects and business users to ensure both integrity and adaptability. About Team:
Everyone has data, but the sheer volume of data at Walmart can be limitless. In the Data Engineering team, we help Walmart manage this data by building pipelines and data lakes to prepare big data for analysis and unlocking actionable insights in real-time. We also use cross-departmental data and machine learning to build a holistic view of true profitability, saving millions of dollars across item categories and geographies while assisting our leadership in making better decisions faster.
What you'll do:
- Data Lake Engineering and Architecture Design
- Data Strategy Socialization
- Schema and Data Asset Modeling Oversight
- Data NPS and Data Quality Improvements
- Lean Data Lake and Cloud Cost Optimization
What you'll bring:
- Big Data and Data Lake Architecture Experience (preferably Google Cloud, GCS, BigQuery, Spark Serverless, DataProc, Looker, etc.)
- Executive Presence and Clear Communications
- Comfortable Presenting Technical Strategy and Concepts to Large Audiences
- Natural Leader and Ability to Influence Experienced Engineers
- Retail Business Acumen (preferably Health and Wellness)

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
