Analyst II, Content Standards

This is a full-time role based in Bentonville, Arkansas, in-office 5 days per week.

About the Team

Innovation, curiosity, and learning are at the core of everything we do at Walmart, driving our commitment to serving our customers. By joining the Item Experience team within E-Commerce, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering industry-leading product standards. Our goal is to delight our customers in their shopping journeys by matching them with exactly the information they need to maximize their purchase confidence and trust in Walmart.

We are a hard-working team that is passionate about building scalable programs, enabling partners, and delivering operational excellence. We’re looking for entrepreneurial, collaborative, and detail-obsessed teammates who thrive at solving problems, structuring complex information, and driving usability at scale.

About the Role

The Analyst, Content Standards will be on the front line of Walmart’s standards revamp program, with a dual focus: ensuring standards are structured and usable before launch and supporting their ongoing evolution after rollout. Reporting into the Content Quality leadership team, you’ll organize standards, test usability, and maintain the systems and documentation that enable smooth execution at scale.

This is a detail-rich role that blends taxonomy design, usability testing, and precise documentation with post-launch operational support — including coordinating updates, resolving escalations, and analyzing system-driven recommendations. Success in this role means ensuring standards are not only well-designed at launch but also continuously improved, adopted, and kept relevant over time.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Organize taxonomy structures for scalability across categories.

  • Conduct usability testing and provide input on UX/UI for standards implementation.

  • Draft and maintain written standards and related documentation.

  • Coordinate incoming questions, escalations, and updates to standards materials and taxonomy.

  • Analyze outputs from autonomous systems’ standards suggestions and evaluate their feasibility.

  • Partner with program managers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure standards remain practical, usable, and effective.

We’re looking for a detail-driven trailblazer who thrives on turning insights into clear, actionable guidance — and who gets energy from making every word matter. You’ll write, test, and refine the standards that power Walmart’s digital ecosystem, connecting data, AI, customers, and merchants to keep them sharp, usable, and evolving day after day.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if:

Ways of Working

  • You can take in input from many directions — customers, merchants, system outputs, and internal partners — and distill it into clear, actionable standards.

  • You’re skilled at collaborating with cross-functional partners, from product designers to content teams, to make sure standards are usable and grounded in reality.

Mindset

  • You’re customer and associate obsessed, always asking how standards improve the end-to-end experience for shoppers, sellers, and associates.

  • You’re detail-obsessed and rigorous — you believe every word in a standard matters and you want to get it right.

  • You’re analytical and curious, eager to dig into data, feedback, and system outputs to refine what “good” looks like.

Experience

  • You’ve conducted or supported design research, usability testing, or UX/UI studies, and know how to translate findings into clear guidance.

  • You’ve written documentation, content, or process standards where clarity and precision were critical.

  • You’ve worked with or analyzed AI/automation systems and know how to tune or interpret outputs for real-world use.

  • Bonus if you’ve partnered with content production teams or merchant/customer stakeholders to understand feasibility and drive alignment.

And most importantly…

  • YOU LOVE TURNING COMPLEX INPUTS INTO CLEAR, USABLE STANDARDS THAT EVERYONE CAN FOLLOW.

You’ll make an impact by:

Defining usable standards

  • Drafting and maintaining written standards with precision — ensuring every word is accurate, consistent, and actionable.

  • Organizing taxonomy to make standards scalable across categories.

  • Partnering with content teams to align what’s feasible with what’s required.

Driving insights and improvement

  • Running usability tests and design research with customers and merchants to validate standards.

  • Continuously analyzing program data, system outputs, and AI-driven suggestions to identify opportunities for refinement.

  • Providing structured recommendations on feasibility and incorporating them into standards.

Sustaining operational excellence

  • Coordinating incoming questions, escalations, and updates to standards and taxonomy.

  • Keeping artifacts and materials current, so stakeholders always have the latest version.

  • Supporting adoption through training, communication, and cross-functional alignment.
