What you'll do...
Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089
Duties: Build and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing large volume of data to support advertising on Walmart.com and its subsidiaries. Work on cloud platforms like Azure and Google Cloud for data storage, processing, and analytics. Create and deploy large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in public clouds like Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. Collaborate with other scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner-Ops, while partnering with cross-functional project development teams. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues across cross-functional teams. Work on data engineering projects from design to deployment, ensure timely delivery and meet project goals. Help drive software engineering projects. Coordinate, create, and complete technical design discussions to drive technical architecture.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
Skills required: Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language and a MVC framework. Experience working with distributed version control systems. Experience with data technologies including SQL, Spark, and Hadoop. Experience working on ETL tools, relational databases, and NoSQL databases. Experience processing real time messages using Apache Kafka. Experience designing and implementing data models for efficient storage and retrieval and Cloud Computing Services. Experience with Distributed Storage Systems. Experience accommodating API integrations with data pipelines. Experience building and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and storing large volumes of data. Experience creating and deploying large-scale, high performance data and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in public clouds. Experience collaborating with Scrum, QA, Product, Program Management, Operations, and cross-functional project development teams. Experience writing test cases and test code, for applications before deployments. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using JAVA. Experience building distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, and low cost. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $150,051/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
