Position Summary...
Walmart is looking for a Principal, Network Engineer, Information Security to assist in the design, implementation, and modernization of our Network Access Control (NAC) capabilities. This role will drive a multi-year strategy that spans 802.1x deployment, TACACS automation, posture enforcement, and the development of infrastructure-as-code strategy. The ideal candidate combines deep NAC expertise with strong automation and infrastructure-as-code skills, and is comfortable working across large, distributed, multi-vendor environments.About Team:

What you'll do...
- Help lead the technical development and execution of Walmart’s NAC strategy, including major initiatives in 802.1x, TACACS, and ZTA posture enforcement.
- Design, deploy, and support NAC policies and controls across campus, stores, and distribution centers.
- Build and maintain automation workflows that eliminate repetitive operational tasks.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code modules and workflows to manage NAC systems and supporting infrastructure in a modern, declarative way.
- Partner closely with teams across Global Tech and InfoSec to deliver integrated solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex NAC issues involving RADIUS, TACACS+, switchport behavior, endpoint posture, and authentication flows across Cisco and Juniper environments.
- Contribute to the evaluation of platforms including viability assessments, POCs, and architectural recommendations.
- Create technical documentation, diagrams, and playbooks to support both operational teams and leadership.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive hands-on experience with 802.1x for wired and wireless networks, including authentication flows, EAP methods, and switchport enforcement.
- Deep understanding of Cisco ISE architecture and configuration, including RADIUS, TACACS+, policy sets, profiling, and posture assessment.
- Experience working in mixed network environments, including Cisco Catalyst/NX-OS and Juniper EX/Mist.
- Practical experience automating infrastructure or network operations using tools appropriate to the environment, such as:
- Background in infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or similar, with the ability to manage infrastructure through version-controlled declarative configuration.
- Scripting or orchestration frameworks used in network automation
- API-driven automation for network and security platforms
- Solid networking background to include access layer switching, load-balancing, firewalls, and routing.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust concepts and how NAC fits into device posture, identity, and least-privilege access models.
- Experience designing RBAC models and command authorization workflows for network infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a large enterprise.
- Experience running technology evaluations, vendor assessments, or RFP/RFI processes is a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
