Position Summary...

The Global Tech Platform team is looking for highly skilled Staff Technical Program Manager with deep technical expertise in leading highly visible, complex, and cross-organizational initiatives across Cloud, Data, Infrastructure, Reliability Engineering or Developer Platforms. The role operates as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Business leaders, owning execution outcomes, delivery rigor, and organizational alignment for critical platform programs with a strong emphasis on AI, Generative AI, and Agentic development capabilities.

This role partners deeply with Cloud Engineering, Data Platform, AI/ML, Architecture, SRE, and Product leadership to translate strategic intent into scalable, reliable, and measurable outcomes. The TPM will operate as a force multiplier, ensuring predictable delivery, strong technical alignment, and enterprise‑grade execution for next‑generation platforms.

Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.

What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, multi-quarter Cloud, Data & Infrastructure programs that span multiple teams, portfolios, and technology domains, with direct impact on business and platform outcomes
  • Act as the single‑threaded owner for complex initiatives, accountable for scope clarity, sequencing, dependency management, and delivery outcomes
  • Drive strategic initiatives aligned to GT/GTP-level goals, translating leadership intent into executable roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across technical, operational, and organizational dimensions, surface trade-offs and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Partner with platform teams to enable enterprise‑ready GenAI and Agentic solutions, including:
    • Platform readiness (data pipelines, observability, security, cost controls)
    • Agent orchestration, workflow automation, and integration across systems
    • Adoption enablement for engineering and product teams.
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered with strong governance, including reliability, scalability, responsible AI considerations, and operational readiness.
  • Mentor junior Problem Mangers and engineers, fostering a culture of operational excellence.

What You’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, technical program management.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale, cross‑functional Cloud, Infrastructure, and/or Data platform programs with significant technical complexity
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of system fundamentals, including:
    • Service‑oriented and microservices architectures
    • Data pipelines, storage layers, and data flow patterns
    • Cloud‑native constructs (compute, networking, storage etc)
    • Understand how systems behave at scale, including performance, availability, resiliency, and cost implications.
    • Read and interpret architecture diagrams (component, sequence, deployment, data flow) with confidence.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous problem spaces, set direction, and drive outcomes with minimal oversight
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive‑level storytelling and data‑driven decision support
  • Demonstrated leadership behaviors: ownership, accountability, customer empathy, and a strong bias for action
  • Identify opportunities to automate and optimize problem management workflows using Agentic AI.
