About Team:
We are seeking passionate engineers to enhance our next-generation forecasting platform for Walmart. Forecasts drive over $200 billion in inventory replenishments annually. An improved forecast will help reduce inventory days of supply and decrease waste for perishable grocery items, resulting in savings measured in billions of dollars, while also enhancing our in-stock levels. Effectively predicting demand involves learning from past sales and modelling the effects of price, promotions, store placements, local events, weather, etc. Doing this at Walmart's scale—over 500 million store-item combinations—makes it one of the largest and most challenging problems of its kind in the world, while also being the most impactful.
As a Software Engineer III within the Forecasting Team, your primary responsibility will be to improve the Forecast Management capability to support internal business associates in managing forecasts. You will work closely with cross-functional software and quality engineers to develop cutting-edge technology solutions, addressing complex problems on a large scale.
What You’ll Do:
•Design and develop responsive, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces.
•Build scalable frontend architecture using modern frameworks.
•Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
•Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers.
•Develop and maintain backend APIs and microservices.
•Integrate UI applications with enterprise systems and data platforms.
•Ensure performance optimization, security, and reliability.
•Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and design sessions.
•Drive best practices in coding, testing, and documentation.
•Support production systems and resolve issues proactively.
What You’ll Bring:
•B.E/B.Tech from a reputed institution.
•Minimum of 3 years of UI development experience.
•Proficiency in front-end technologies – JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React, NodeJs.
•Advanced experience with React.js
•Good exposure to NodeJS.
•Ability to translate design into code.
•Ability to create reusable code and refactor existing one, when needed.
•Should be a fast learner and quickly adapt to new technologies.
•Prefer individuals with high ownership and commitment.
•Solid knowledge of SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, CI/CD, testing, and telemetry.
•Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability.
