About Team:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Application Performance Monitoring (APM) team, focusing on building and enhancing observability solutions. This role involves designing and implementing systems that provide deep insights into application performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making complex data understandable and actionable, enabling teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize distributed systems effectively
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the APM team, you will play a critical role in shaping how our organization understands and improves application performance. Your work will:
- Enable engineering teams to detect and resolve issues faster, reducing downtime and improving customer experience.
- Provide actionable insights that influence architectural decisions and system optimizations.
- Drive the adoption of observability best practices across the company, fostering a culture of reliability and transparency.
- Develop and maintain observability tools and frameworks for application performance monitoring.
- Design intuitive dashboards and visualizations to simplify complex telemetry data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate observability into the software development lifecycle.
- Implement instrumentation and data collection using modern standards like OpenTelemetry.
- Drive best practices for monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis.

What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-9 years of industry experience in software engineering, preferably with large-scale, distributed systems.
- Observability Expertise: Strong understanding of metrics, logs, and traces
- Visualization Tools: Hands-on experience with Grafana or similar platforms
- Backend Development: Strong programming skills in Java or similar.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, simple terms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in distributed systems environments.
- Frontend Development: Proficiency in HTML, React, and modern browser development.
- Monitoring & Telemetry: Familiarity with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and microservices.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and debugging in production environments.
