About the Team

The Global Data Foundations (GDF) team manages Walmart’s data and data platforms across the globe. We define how data is captured, stored and supports our Business and Partners (Suppliers, Sellers, and Clients) to drive the better customer experiences and operational efficiencies. We enable a robust data platform that supports Business and Partner data need that is centralized, scalable, cost efficient, and most importantly is secure. We leverage AI tools and agents in our day-to-day functions for efficiency, analysis, and reporting

We’re looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead the most critical and complex data domains - operating to define how data supports feature implementations by driving a platform-first approach, cloud cost savings, and performance engineering. Your work will directly influence customer engagement, conversion, and business growth at massive scale.

What you’ll do:

Program & Portfolio Leadership

  • Manage a program of complex, interdependent projects aligned to Global Data Domains (Customer, Merchandising, E2E Fulfillment, etc.) ensuring Product and Engineering teams are aligned on scope and delivery.
  • Track and report Program and project execution to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead cross‑domain initiatives that centralize data and unify data patterns across Global Data Foundations.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Partner with engineering and architecture to guide foundational decisions across data platforms.
  • Drive modernization initiatives (e.g., framework upgrades, design‑system adoption, scalable component patterns).
  • Facilitate technical/design reviews to simplify complexity and ensure long‑term maintainability.

Cross‑Functional Influence & Execution Excellence

  • Align Engineering, Product, Design, Platform, Analytics, and Business areas on shared outcomes. Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; drive mitigation plans and timely decisions in ambiguous spaces leveraging best practices, dependency management, and execution at scale.
  • Coach teams on Program better practices to drive executional excellence and transparency in project and program delivery.
  • Raise the bar on program management standards and operating rhythms, gaining efficiencies for both Program and Engineering teams across the GDF organization.

What you'll bring:

  • 7–8+ years driving large‑scale frontend or customer‑facing product initiatives in complex, cross‑functional environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi‑quarter programs that span web and native apps with measurable impact on engagement, conversion, and performance.
  • Proven ability to partner closely with engineering, product, design, data, and platform teams to define scope, manage dependencies, and deliver on time.
  • Excellent communication and executive storytelling skills; adept at framing trade‑offs, risks, and customer impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in data architecture concepts (data structures, data pipelines, and orchestration design and tools/technology) and performance engineering.
  • Familiarity with Walmart‑scale platforms and integrations (Walmart Marketplace, Walmart Commerce Platform, Data and Customer Analytics platforms).
  • Tooling proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Figma, Slack, experimentation platforms, and analytics suites.
  • Experienced with using AI, able to leverage AI models and prompts to support data analysis, reporting and analytics
  • Track record of managing large and complex programs, interacting with Leadership on status (or support needs), driving on-time delivery, and managing post‑launch incident root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).
