Position Summary...
What you'll do...
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our International Order Management & Fulfillment team. You'll design, build, and maintain backend systems that power the end-to-end order lifecycle — from order creation through fulfillment — across multiple international markets including Mexico (MX), Canada (CA), Chile (CL), and other emerging markets.
You'll work on high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems that handle millions of orders daily, collaborating closely with product, architecture, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement backend services for order management and fulfillment workflows using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
- Build and optimize APIs and event-driven systems that support order orchestration, status tracking, cancellations, returns, and fulfillment routing
- Develop solutions that support multi-market requirements (MX, CA, CL, and beyond), including localization, tax rules, currency handling, and market-specific fulfillment logic
- Work with NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Cosmos DB, etc.) and caching layers to ensure high performance and data consistency at scale
- Contribute to system design decisions, participate in code reviews, and help define engineering best practices within the team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps) to deliver features end-to-end with high quality
- Write clean, well-tested, production-ready code with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, participate in on-call rotations, and drive incident resolution
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment automation
- Stay current with emerging technologies and leverage AI/ML tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted coding, AI-powered testing) to improve development velocity and code quality
What You'll Bring
- 6–9.6 years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development
- Deep proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building production-grade microservices
- Solid experience with NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, or DynamoDB) and understanding of data modeling for distributed systems
- Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems patterns, and microservices communication
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or private cloud) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/WCNP)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Concord, Jenkins, Looper) and deployment practices
- Good understanding of system observability — logging, monitoring, and alerting (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
- Familiarity with systems supporting multiple geographies and markets with varying business rules is a strong plus
Exposure to or interest in AI literacy — understanding how AI/ML tools can be applied to enhance development workflows, testing, and operational efficiency.
