Sam’s Club Member Access Platform (MAP) Engineering is the advertising technology team responsible for building impactful omnichannel advertising experiences for suppliers and delivering relevant, additive ad experiences for members. Our team develops the platforms, tools, and intelligent systems that help scale the Sam’s Club advertising business while keeping member value at the center of everything we build. What you’ll do
  • Lead the design, development, and scaling of full-stack Agentic AI platforms and applications that automate business workflows and accelerate the growth of Sam’s Club’s advertising business.
  • Build and deploy intelligent software systems using Python and JavaScript, across backend services, APIs, orchestration frameworks, and front-end experiences.
  • Develop LLM-powered solutions including agent workflows, retrieval-based systems, tool integrations, reasoning pipelines, and evaluation frameworks.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, data, and business stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities and deliver scalable AI-driven solutions.
  • Drive technical excellence through strong system design, code quality, testing, observability, and operational best practices.
  • Mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and help define the technical roadmap for next-generation AI platforms within Sam’s Club MAP Engineering.
What you’ll bring
  • 6+ years of experience designing and building scalable distributed systems and full-stack applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Python/Java and JavaScript, with a track record of delivering high-quality production software.
  • Hands-on experience building Agentic AI and LLM-based applications, including orchestration, prompt design, tool use, retrieval, and evaluation.
  • Experience translating business problems into practical, scalable software and AI solutions.
  • Strong understanding of API design, system integration, application security, and cloud-native engineering principles.
  • Proven technical leadership with experience mentoring engineers, leading design discussions, and driving engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
