Team and Position Summary:
Walmart Connect's China Revenue Operations team is the operational engine behind every advertiser campaign in the China market spanning the full lifecycle of Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Video, Onsite Display, Offsite Programmatic, and digital advertising. The team manages campaign keyword strategy and moderation, creative policy review, quality assurance and cross-functional program execution at scale and at speed.
As Director, Revenue Operations — China, you will be the senior operations leader on the ground in China. You will own and drive Walmart Connect China's entire revenue operations function setting the strategic direction, building operational infrastructure, scaling the team, and partnering with global leadership to position China as a lighthouse market for operational excellence within Walmart Connect's global footprint. This is a role for a bold, data-driven leader who can think at the strategic level and execute with precision at the operational level someone who understands China's digital advertising ecosystem deeply and can translate that knowledge into competitive advantage for Walmart Connect and its advertisers.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Define and drive the long-term strategy for China RevOps, aligning team priorities with global goals and local market growth in alignment with China business leader
- Act as the senior operations leader for China, translating global strategy into clear, executable plans
- Drive advertising growth through strong operational frameworks that improve performance and customer experience
- Stay ahead of the market by leveraging insights from China’s digital advertising ecosystem to shape strategy
Revenue Operations Excellence
- Own end-to-end operations across all ad products, ensuring high quality, speed, and consistency
- Establish strong KPI, SLA, and performance frameworks, continuously raising the bar on operational excellence
- Drive scalability through process improvements, automation, and data-driven decision-making
- Build a quality-first culture with strong RCA practices to reduce defects and improve advertiser experience
People Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team, focusing on hiring, development, and succession planning
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and accountability
- Drive workforce planning and org design to support business growth over the long term
- Lead change effectively, ensuring smooth adoption of new strategies, tools, and processes
Advertiser & Stakeholder Partnership
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Account teams to support revenue growth and retention
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with Product, Engineering, and global teams
- Communicate effectively with leadership through clear, data-driven updates and insights
Product, Technology & Innovation
- Drive adoption of new ad products and formats, ensuring smooth onboarding and strong execution
- Partner with Product and Engineering to enhance tools, workflows, and advertising experience
- Lead automation and AI initiatives to improve efficiency and scale operations
- Stay updated on industry trends and bring innovative ideas to strengthen competitive positioning
Vendor & Partner Management
- Oversee vendor strategy and performance, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance
- Drive vendor selection, partnerships, and capability development aligned to business needs
- Continuously optimize vendor ecosystem for scale, cost efficiency, and performance
Financial & Business Management
- Own budget planning and cost management, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Build strong business cases for investments and secure leadership alignment
- Monitor volume, capacity, and cost metrics to ensure sustainable and scalable growth
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 16+ years of progressive experience in digital advertising operations, revenue operations, ad tech, retail media, or a closely related field — with at least 10+ years in senior people leadership roles managing large, multi-level organizations.
- Demonstrated success leading and scaling Advertising Operations organizations at Director level or above, with accountability for operational quality, advertiser experience, and team performance at scale.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence at scale includes building and governing KPI frameworks, SLA management systems, quality assurance programs, and continuous improvement cultures in large operational organizations.
- Strong command of digital advertising metrics and performance analytics ROAS, ACOS, CTR, CVR, CPC, CPM, CPCV, Viewability, ATC Rate, NTB%, Incremental Sales, Attribution, and Measurement best practices.
- Exceptional leadership capability proven ability to attract, develop, inspire, and retain top talent track record of building diverse, high-performing teams and developing future leaders.
- Executive-level communication and influencing skills able to represent Walmart Connect China at the highest levels internally and externally demonstrated ability to communicate with confidence in both English and Mandarin.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) required for effective leadership of the China org and global stakeholder engagement.
- Deep knowledge of China's digital advertising ecosystem including programmatic advertising, retail media, social commerce, performance marketing, first-party data activation, and China-specific advertising platforms and the regulatory environment governing digital advertising in China.
- Proven strategic thinking and business acumen ability to translate market trends and business opportunities into executable operational strategies with measurable outcomes demonstrated P&L awareness and financial management experience.
- Strong cross-functional leadership experience able to build consensus, drive alignment, and deliver results across Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance, Legal, and global operational leadership teams.
Additional Qualifications:
- Prior experience at a leading retail media network, major e-commerce platform, or large-scale performance advertising company in a Director role.
- Experience managing P&L, headcount budget, and vendor spending portfolio at Director level.
- Track record of successfully launching or significantly scaling advertising operations in the China market, including navigating regulatory, cultural, and operational complexities unique to China.
- Experience with AI/ML-powered advertising optimization, programmatic buying, identity resolution, or advanced measurement and attribution methodologies.
- Experience driving digital advertising adoption across brand, performance, and shopper marketing teams at Fortune 500 advertisers or global agency holding groups.
- Experience building and running vendor selection processes and managing large, multi-geography vendor ecosystems.
