About the team
The Reliability Engineering and Operations Reporting & Analytics Team is part of Walmart’s Developer Tools and Infrastructure organization. Our mission is to drive operational excellence and system reliability across Walmart’s technology landscape. We empower engineering teams with actionable insights, predictive analytics, and automated reporting to proactively identify issues, optimize performance, and minimize downtime. By leveraging advanced data science, AI agent frameworks, and robust monitoring tools, we foster a culture of continuous improvement and shared accountability. Our collaborative approach ensures that developers, SREs, and business stakeholders have the data and tools needed to deliver resilient, high-performing solutions at scale
What You’ll Do
- Analyse operational and reliability data to identify patterns, root causes, and opportunities for improvement in system performance and incident management.
- Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to forecast outages, detect anomalies, and optimize maintenance schedules.
- Build and maintain dashboards and real-time monitoring tools to visualize key metrics, system health, and incident trends.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), operations specialists, and business stakeholders to translate operational challenges into actionable analytics projects.
- Drive continuous improvement by recommending data-driven process optimizations and automating alerts for proactive incident prevention.
- Support incident lifecycle management by providing analytical insights during detection, recovery, and post-mortem phases.
- Leverage AI Agent frameworks and tools to automate operational workflows, enhance monitoring, and enable intelligent incident response.
- Participate in the design, evaluation, and deployment of agentic AI solutions for reliability and operations use cases, including workflow orchestration, plan execution, and response synthesis.
What You’ll bring
- 10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in extracting actionable insights from complex datasets.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and machine learning; experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Experience with data engineering tasks, including data cleaning, transformation, and integration from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS), big data tools (e.g., Spark, BigQuery), and ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, MLFlow).
- Ability to build dashboards and visualizations using tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering concepts, incident management, and operational analytics best practices.
- Exposure to AI Agent frameworks, agentic architectures, or conversational AI platforms (e.g., People Domain Agent, RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration).
- Experience designing, evaluating, or deploying agentic AI solutions for operational automation or analytics.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Initiative to promote data quality, question existing processes, and advocate for lean, efficient operations.
