What you'll do...

Role summary:

As a Data Scientist III, you will apply advanced analytical and modeling techniques to translate complex business challenges into data-driven solutions. This role requires expertise in data sourcing, exploratory analysis, and model development using programming languages such as Python. You will support the deployment and scalability of analytical models while collaborating cross-functionally to align insights with business objectives. The position demands a strong understanding of industry practices, data quality, and visualization to effectively communicate findings and drive informed decision-making within a dynamic environment.


About the team:

The Catalog Data Science team focuses on enhancing product content quality to improve search accuracy and customer experience. By developing and deploying advanced AI models, including NLP and Generative AI, the team addresses challenges such as product classification, attribute enrichment, and content consistency. Their work supports global catalog health by ensuring precise product representation, aiding sellers and suppliers in item setup and maintenance. The team leverages expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and MLOps to deliver scalable AI solutions that drive measurable improvements in catalog performance and customer satisfaction.


What you'll do:

  • Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions using advanced analytical and mathematical methods.
  • Identify and source relevant data sets, ensuring data quality and suitability for modeling purposes.
  • Develop, test, and validate custom analytical models leveraging machine learning, deep learning, and statistical techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data insights with business objectives and support decision-making.
  • Deploy scalable models into production environments, ensuring sustainability and performance monitoring.
  • Create clear data visualizations to communicate findings and influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Support continuous improvement by adopting emerging AI technologies and best practices in MLOps.


What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's with > 7 years of relevant experience OR Masters with > 5 years of relevant experience OR PHD in Comp Science/Statistics/Mathematics with > 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in machine learning, supervised and unsupervised: NLP, Classification, Data/Text Mining, Multi-modal models, Neural Networks, Deep Learning Algorithms
  • Embedding generation from training materials, storage and retrieval from Vector Databases, set-up and provisioning of managed LLM gateways, development of Retrieval augmented generation based LLM agents, model selection, prompt engineering and finetuning based on accuracy and user-feedback, monitoring and governance.
  • Strong Experience in Python, PySpark,Google Cloud platform, model deployment
  • Strong Experience with big data platforms
