The Savings & Incentives team at Walmart Marketplace develops and maintains the incentive operating system supporting seller rewards. The team works across internal tools, seller interfaces, and payment system integrations, impacting marketplace builders and sellers alike. Operating in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and rapid feature releases, the team collaborates closely with product, design, data, and engineering partners. Members engage in cloud-native architecture, API design, and data-driven decision making to build scalable, resilient solutions that enhance the marketplace experience and drive continuous improvement across multiple systems and teams.
What you'll do...
- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, observability, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Lead system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
- Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to support automation and multi-step reasoning.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics using data-driven practices.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
- Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and monitoring.
- Ability to conduct system design reviews ensuring alignment with architectural best practices and project goals.
- Skilled in data-driven decision making to define success metrics and optimize engineering processes.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions for long-term sustainability.
- Effective collaboration skills to communicate complex ideas across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
