About the team:
The Applied AI Search & Personalization team develops advanced machine learning solutions to enhance product discovery and deliver tailored shopping experiences. Focusing on large-scale systems such as query understanding, retrieval, ranking, recommendations, personalization, and Generative AI, the team combines innovative AI research with strong engineering expertise. Members collaborate globally to design and deploy scalable models that support Walmart’s mission to provide efficient, customized services. Their work drives measurable improvements in customer engagement, conversion rates, and overall satisfaction, contributing significantly to business growth and innovation.
What you'll do:
- Develop, test, and deploy advanced data science solutions using programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Analyze complex business problems to design effective technology-driven models and strategies.
- Identify and validate appropriate data sources, ensuring data quality and relevance for modeling.
- Lead the creation and evaluation of machine learning and statistical models to generate actionable insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Mentor team members on analytical techniques, model development, and data visualization best practices.
- Monitor model performance and implement continuous improvements to maintain accuracy and scalability.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI and advanced statistical analysis to develop and deploy scalable data science solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, and Java, with strong coding and testing capabilities.
- Expertise in data source identification, data quality assessment, and data strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Ability to design and validate analytical models using techniques such as Bayesian inference, neural networks, and hypothesis testing.
- Skilled in data visualization tools and storytelling to communicate complex insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Proven leadership in mentoring teams, driving project execution, and fostering continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
