About the team:
The Applied AI Search & Personalization team develops advanced machine learning systems to enhance product discovery and deliver tailored shopping experiences. The team focuses on large-scale solutions including query understanding, retrieval, ranking, recommendations, personalization, and Generative AI. Combining cutting-edge AI research with robust engineering, the team addresses complex challenges at a global level, driving significant improvements in customer engagement, conversion rates, and business growth. Members collaborate to innovate and implement scalable models that support Walmart’s commitment to providing efficient and personalized services to customers worldwide.
What you'll do:
- Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
- Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model accuracy and business insights.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with strategic goals.
- Create clear and impactful data visualizations to communicate findings and influence decision-making.
- Mentor junior team members on modeling techniques and best practices.
- Support scalability and sustainability of deployed models within production environments.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in data science, including advanced statistical methods and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Spark and distributed data stores including SQL and NoSQL.
- Ability to develop, test, validate, and deploy scalable analytical models in production environments.
- Solid understanding of data quality standards, data governance, and business domain context.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
