We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for problem solving, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements and collaborate with other engineers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

The Acquisition and Discovery Engineering team at Walmart is dedicated to providing a seamless and delightful shopping experience to millions of shoppers worldwide. As a senior full stack engineer in this team, you will have the opportunity to work on top of the funnel shopping experience – Homepage, Content Pages for SEO and SEM, Search & Browse experiences, Deals and Item pages across mobile and web platforms.

This collaborative team made up of Engineering, UX, Product Management, Business and Analytics is rapidly iterating on new products and site features at scale. We deliver high performing solutions on our next generation front-end platform. Virtual Try-On, Gen AI integration, personalized complete-the-look, Video shopping, etc are just a few examples of the features developed by this team in collaboration with many other teams. Continuous experimentation, innovation and feedback by millions of customers makes this work even more exciting!

What you'll do:
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you’ll lead the development of world-class full stack web
applications that power Walmart’s e-commerce experience. You will:

• Design and build scalable, high-performance web applications using modern design patterns and technologies.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, secure, and intuitive web experiences.
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design sessions, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery—from ideation and prototyping to deployment and production monitoring.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and load time efficiency using profiling tools and crash analytics.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues leveraging observability platforms like OpenObserve.
• Design and implement modular architectures that integrate with GraphQL APIs and microservices backends, and extend the GraphQL layer.
• Implement and maintain automation testing frameworks for unit, functional, and end-to-end (E2E)testing to ensure high-quality releases.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party SDKs and APIs to enhance app functionality and customer engagement.
• Champion continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and technologies.
• Stay current with web platform ecosystem, SW trends, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to improve engineering efficiency and code quality.

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years of Professional full stack web development.
• Proficient in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, and popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Next.js.
• Strong experience with back-end development using Node.js, Express.js, or Rust (experience with Java, .NET, or other server-side languages is a plus).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development, as well as working with GraphQL.
• Experience with performance tuning, caching strategies, and web security best practices.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other NoSQL and SQL databases.
• Proficient in cloud platforms like Azure, Google Cloud Platform or AWS for deploying web applications.
• Experience with version control (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for deployment and scalability.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems.
• Familiar with microservices architecture, message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka), and serverless technologies.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
  Preferred:
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of SEO factors and key algorithm updates.
• Previous experience working in e-commerce, fintech, or SaaS platforms is a plus.
• Experience in building secure, highly available, resilient, scalable distributed systems leveraging clustering and load balancing of web servers, app servers, and messaging systems
• A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimize systems and tools.
• Have influential communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
