We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Intl Supply Chain Backend team. About team:
International Technology team enables our warehouses, stores and eCommerce operations across the world. The platforms that we build are used in most of the markets where Walmart has its presence (outside US). Omni Supply chain group of International Technology focuses on building Supply chain solutions for customers, operators and sellers.
Unified Fulfilment team under Omni Supply chain group is responsible for building next gen, state of art technology, cloud native systems for Warehouse management for entire Walmart International that is capable of distributing inventory and order fulfilment through intelligent transaction processing, optimized storage and selected strategies.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and mentorship.
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of critical services.
Drive technical decisions and provide architectural direction for projects.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Implement and enforce best practices for software development and team collaboration.
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to keep the team and projects aligned with the latest technologies.
Manage resources, budgets, and timelines effectively to meet organizational goals.
Ensure the team delivers with pace, quality, efficiency, and excellence
What You’ll bring
Minimum 10+ years’ experience and at least 2+ years in people management.
Have strong experience in building and managing a high performing team
Have led a team of 10-12 people and owned the accountability of complete E2E delivery
Should be good in stakeholder and program management
Extensive experience building services using these technologies (Microservices/Restful/SOAP web services)
In depth knowledge in backend technologies like Java,Spring/Springboot etc.
Strong experience in running the cloud distributed system in production at least for 2-3 years
Experience in creating performing, highly scalable and distributed middle-tier frameworks, preferably using event-driven architecture in Cloud like Azure
Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
Experience on large-scale end-to-end implementations
Knowledge on unit testing frameworks (Junit/Spock/Jest etc) and code quality control platforms like Sonar
Experience in CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project.
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies
Prior Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
Well versed in understanding and handling Non-Functional requirements (NFR’s)
Excellent in driving Engineering excellence – code quality, performance tuning, operational excellence etc.
Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Willing to learn new and emerging technologies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
Knowledge on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure
