The Health & Wellness Engineering team at Walmart is on a mission to make healthcare more accessible, affordable, and convenient for millions of customers across the US. We build the technology that powers Walmart's pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and wellness platforms spanning prescription management, clinical workflows, patient-facing digital experiences, and health program delivery. What you'll do:
As a Quality Engineer III for Walmart Health & Wellness, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks and test suites that validate the quality, reliability, and compliance of Walmart's pharmacy and health platforms
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and clinical stakeholders to define acceptance criteria, test strategies, and quality gates across the SDLC
- Build and execute end-to-end, integration, regression, and API test suites for critical healthcare workflows including prescription processing, patient data management, and clinical integrations
- Ensure all test coverage adheres to HIPAA compliance requirements and that test environments handle sensitive patient health information (ePHI) with appropriate data masking and privacy controls
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality validation and fast feedback loops for development teams
- Perform thorough defect analysis, document bugs with precision, and work closely with engineers to drive timely resolution of issues
- Contribute to shift-left quality practices — participate in design reviews, requirement grooming, and early-stage risk identification to prevent defects before they reach production
- Adhere to Company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
What you'll bring:
- BE/B Tech/ME/MTech in Computer Science or related technical field
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering with a focus on test automation
- Test Automation — Java Stack — Proficiency in Java for building and maintaining automation frameworks; TestNG / JUnit 5, Selenium WebDriver with Page Object Model (POM), Maven / Gradle
- API Test Automation — Hands-on experience with REST Assured and Postman / Newman; validating JSON / XML responses, status codes, schema validation, and end-to-end API workflow testing
- BDD & Test Design — Cucumber + Gherkin for behaviour-driven test design; feature file authoring, step definition mapping, and data-driven test strategies
- CI/CD Integration — Embedding test suites in Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Concord pipelines; parallel test execution, test reporting (Allure / ExtentReports), and quality gate enforcement
- Database Validation — SQL proficiency for test data setup, teardown, and result verification; experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL and basic NoSQL awareness
- Healthcare Domain Awareness — Understanding of HIPAA compliance, PHI / ePHI data handling in test environments, and familiarity with healthcare workflows (prescription lifecycle, clinical data, payer integrations) is a strong advantage
- Engineering Fundamentals — OOP basics, Git branching strategies, code reviews, defect lifecycle management, and test documentation practices
- Soft Skills — Analytical and detail-oriented mindset, precise defect reporting, collaborative, strong ownership of quality outcomes
