Role summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement, test, and maintain features and services. This role requires expertise in full software development lifecycle, including coding, debugging, and continuous integration, with a focus on aligning technical outcomes to broader platform and business objectives. You will contribute to solution design, mentor peers, and drive innovation by integrating AI/ML components and applying best practices to ensure high-quality, reliable software that meets stakeholder needs and supports ongoing improvement.
About the team:
The Customer Engagement Services Technology team develops advanced customer service solutions impacting millions globally. It includes software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts focused on innovative Generative AI applications within complex enterprise environments. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Systems, the team collaborates closely with product, business, and UX partners to deliver measurable business value. Emphasizing scalable, secure, and maintainable software design, the team fosters continuous improvement and operational excellence to support Walmart’s mission of helping customers save money and live better.
What you'll do:
  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support for services, APIs, and UI.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using multiple programming languages and drive full software development lifecycle including CI/CD deployments and automation.
  • Integrate AI/ML components to enhance software intelligence and apply object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with company standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics, supporting continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Monitor application performance, maintain system uptime, and proactively resolve issues to ensure high-quality software delivery.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong experience in delivering scoped features and managing full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Proficiency in debugging, code review, and continuous development methodologies.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems aligned with platform standards.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
