Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring technical excellence through design reviews and mentorship. About the team:
The AdTech Measurement and Reporting team develops scalable, cloud-native platforms for real-time data processing and AI integration. The team delivers detailed performance insights that support informed decision-making and business goals. Collaborating across functions, members design robust tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency. Utilizing advanced engineering principles, software design patterns, and data-driven methods, the team ensures reliable, high-quality outputs. Focused on continuous innovation and alignment with strategic objectives, this group advances Walmart’s technology solutions through disciplined development, testing, and delivery practices.
What you'll do:
- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
- Lead full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
- Develop AI-driven applications and integrate machine learning components to enhance automation.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making and innovation.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and applying software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design reviews and remedial actions to uphold quality and alignment with architectural standards.
- Skilled in DevOps engineering practices to enhance infrastructure, tooling, and developer productivity.
- Data-driven decision-making skills to define metrics, optimize processes, and deliver measurable engineering outcomes.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction to promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
