Position Summary...

As an Operations Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and operational excellence of production systems while also contributing to engineering initiatives across frontend, backend, automation, and AI-driven development.

What You Will Do
1. Production Operations & Incident Management
- Monitor production systems, dashboards, alerts, and service health.
- Perform incident triage, diagnosis, and mitigation.
- Execute operational runbooks and SOPs.
- Resolve operational issues independently wherever possible.
- Escalate complex incidents with complete debugging information.
- Participate in rotational on-call support.
- Perform root cause analysis and contribute to postmortems.
2. Deployment & Release Engineering
- Support deployments across all W+ services.
- Execute deployment validation and post-release health checks.
- Monitor releases for regressions.
- Coordinate production rollouts and rollback activities.
- Improve deployment automation wherever possible.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual deployment effort.
3. Software Engineering Contributions
Contribute engineering capacity outside of operational responsibilities by:
- Developing backend services and APIs.
- Building frontend components and user experiences.
- Fixing production bugs.
- Developing automation utilities.
- Contributing to technical debt reduction.
- Building internal operational tools.
- Writing unit and integration tests.
- Participating in code reviews.
4. AI-Assisted Engineering
Leverage modern AI engineering tools to improve engineering velocity.
Examples include:
- AI-assisted code generation.
- AI-based debugging.
- AI-assisted test generation.
- AI-powered documentation.
- AI code review assistance.
- AI pair programming.
- Rapid prototyping.
Contribute to initiatives involving:
- Agentic workflows
- Developer productivity
- AI-powered automation
- Internal GenAI solutions
- Prompt engineering
- Workflow automation
5. Automation & Operational Excellence
Identify repetitive operational work and automate wherever possible.
Examples:
- Alert automation
- Self-healing scripts
- Dashboard improvements
- Monitoring enhancements
- Runbook automation
- Ticket automation
- Health-check automation
- Operational reporting
Goal:
Reduce manual operational effort while increasing reliability.
6. Customer Support & Service Reliability
- Investigate customer-reported issues.
- Diagnose production defects.
- Work with engineering teams on fixes.
- Improve customer experience through faster resolution.
- Identify recurring themes and recommend permanent solutions.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 4–7 years of experience in software engineering, production engineering, SRE, or technical operations.
Strong understanding of:
- Java
