About the team:
The Applied AI Search & Personalization team develops advanced machine learning solutions to improve product discovery and create tailored shopping experiences. Focusing on query understanding, retrieval, ranking, recommendations, personalization, and Generative AI, the team combines innovative AI research with scalable engineering. Their efforts enhance customer engagement, conversion rates, and business growth globally. Team members leverage expertise in data science, predictive modeling, and large language models to address complex challenges, delivering impactful solutions that support Walmart’s commitment to excellence and value in customer experience.
What you'll do:
- Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and suitability for analysis.
- Develop, test, and deploy advanced analytical models using Python, PySpark, and statistical methods to solve complex business problems.
- Evaluate and validate model performance through rigorous testing and tuning techniques to ensure accuracy and robustness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.
- Create clear and effective data visualizations to communicate findings and influence decision-making.
- Mentor junior team members on modeling techniques and best practices.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in data science, including advanced statistical methods and predictive modeling.
- Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib and Plotly.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques, including large language model evaluation and fine-tuning.
- Expertise in data source identification, data quality assessment, and database technologies like SQL and NoSQL.
- Ability to develop, test, and deploy scalable analytical models in production environments.
- Solid understanding of business domains to translate requirements into data-driven solutions.
- Experience mentoring junior associates and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve business goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
