The team delivers secure, scalable software solutions by collaborating across business, product, and engineering functions. Focused on high-quality feature delivery aligned with Sam’s Club standards, the team leads efforts to detect and prevent fraudulent activities through advanced analysis and rule optimization. Members engage in development, testing, and mentoring to ensure robust site security and seamless user experiences. Emphasizing continuous improvement, the team fosters technical excellence, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to address evolving business needs and maintain reliable, high-performance software systems.
What you'll do:
  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
  • Lead full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Build AI-driven applications integrating intelligent automation and ML components.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making and innovation.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and related programming languages for AI-driven application development and intelligent automation.
  • Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ability to conduct system design reviews and apply software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
  • Skilled in API design, software prototyping, and DevOps engineering to enhance developer productivity and platform capabilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making and remedial action implementation.
  • Effective mentorship and technical leadership fostering continuous learning and engineering excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
