Role summary:Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. About the team:
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) delivers comprehensive fulfillment solutions for Walmart Marketplace sellers, combining scale, quality, and operational excellence. The team collaborates closely with Engineering, Product, Business, and Analytics partners to develop innovative supply chain capabilities, including streamlined inventory intake, preferred carrier programs, and personalized forecasting. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will contribute to building scalable, high-performance systems that support seller growth and enhance customer experience. This team emphasizes iterative development, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and deliver impactful fulfillment products at a large scale.
What you'll do:
- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features using multiple programming languages.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate across teams to define technical requirements, track success metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation for scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform design and development.
- Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
- Ability to conduct system design reviews ensuring alignment with architectural best practices and project goals.
- Skilled in AI/ML integration using languages such as Java, Python.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
- Data-driven problem-solving skills with a focus on engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
