We are hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to drive end-to-end automation for Walmart/Vizio application platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who can design scalable automation frameworks, strengthen CI/CD quality gates, enable Shift-Left approach, ensure application reliability and drive release speed. Hands on with AI driven effectiveness, building impactful reporting and scorecards is a must. This role requires a deep understanding of video streaming technologies, knowledge in client side and back end services, and the ability to manage complex projects and timelines

About Team

Walmart-VIZIO’s Technology – Software and Services division is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for Smart TV application team with expertise in planning and designing high quality automated workflows to ensure in-sprint and E2E product readiness. You’ll work together with the developer and cross functional teams to understand new features and/or extending current features for market needs, own 1P and 3P application validations with a shift-left mindset to improve quality and enable faster releases.

What you will do

• Lead E2E process, architecture, design, and delivery of Smart TV application automation platform across multiple OEM, and device workflows.
• Build, Scale, Own - Robust automation frameworks for functional, integration, and regression coverage. Python/Pytest with expertise is preferred.
• Implement and maintain service-level and cross service integration checks.
• Hands on with AI-enabled improvement such as failure analysis, risk-based prioritization, test case generation and self-healing flows.
• Integrate to CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback - includes process orchestration, pipeline configuration, real/remote TV readiness, nightly run, maintain engineering quality gates and publishing results.
• Establish advanced insight reporting with Tableau, Power BI or equivalent tools for engineering and leadership visibility.
• Effective contribution to optimization and fine-tuning of the software application quality for defect free releases.
• Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
• Collaborate within and across teams including QA, release management,

operations and 3rd party partners to deliver a project on time.

• Working in Agile mode, includes attending the daily status meeting with the team.
• Mentor engineers and set coding, architecture, and automation best practices.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years in video domain automation with lead-level ownership.
• 5+ years strong hands-on coding in Python based automation framework.
• Expertise in OCR, integrating AI based on screen validation for TV UI validations.
• Hands on with LLM or AI Agentic services (test generation, failure reasoning, workflow selection, documentation).
• Proven experience in CI/CD automation with GitHub Actions. Familiarity with pre-commit, secure quality practices.
• Experience building executive-ready quality dashboards and reporting systems.
• Proactive in foreseeing issues and resolve it before it happen.

• Technical expertise on Linux Operating system architecture and device model.
• Programming languages - C or C++ project development.
• Hands-on JavaScript, XML and frontend technology.
• Docker-based execution, scalable runners, and containerized automation environments.
