What you'll do...
Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement features, maintain services, and integrate AI/ML components. The successful candidate will write clean, efficient code, support continuous integration and deployment, and ensure high-quality deliverables. They will engage in technical design, problem-solving, and provide guidance to small engineering groups while driving innovation and continuous improvement aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
About the team:
The team partners with Global Governance units to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications and APIs. They develop fault-tolerant microservices using Java Spring Boot and Python, leveraging containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes. Team members maintain software quality through thorough code reviews and testing while efficiently resolving technical challenges. Emphasizing iterative delivery and technical excellence, the team fosters innovation and collaboration to achieve business and platform objectives. Their dedication to reliability, performance, and best engineering practices ensures robust solutions aligned with organizational goals.
What you'll do:
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions using languages such as JavaScript, Python, and C++.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical designs and deliver high-quality features.
- Implement AI/ML components and integrate GenAI tools to enhance development efficiency and innovation.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and quality assurance to ensure reliable and maintainable code.
- Automate repetitive tasks and support continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Monitor application performance and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Provide technical guidance to small engineering teams and contribute to solution design decisions.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in software development using languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, or C++.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver features through collaborative engineering teams, including testing, iteration, and support.
- Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Skilled in debugging, quality assurance, and code review to ensure reliable and maintainable solutions.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration and generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
