Role summary:
The (USA) Software Engineer III plays a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. About the team:
Walmart International’s Last Mile Delivery team manages the critical final stage of the supply chain across various regions. The team develops scalable, cloud-native software solutions that support efficient package delivery. Engineers collaborate to design, build, and maintain platforms using best practices in API design, DevOps, and prototyping. Focused on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, the team optimizes performance at scale to ensure timely delivery. This dynamic environment encourages innovation and operational excellence, enabling the team to address evolving business needs with strong technical expertise and a commitment to reliable delivery outcomes.
What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level designs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality code following established standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and effective problem-solving.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical direction and support.
  • Implement automation scripts to enhance continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to optimize reliability and scalability.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and platform design with strong technical acumen.
  • Experience in iterative and incremental development, including continuous integration and delivery practices.
  • Proficiency in API design, component services, and debugging complex software systems.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions for production issues.
  • Skilled in writing clear, documentation-based code adhering to coding standards and security policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in test case creation, execution, and defect management.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
