Position Summary
The Boon lab at WashU Medicine is looking for an enthusiastic Post-doctoral fellow to support our team studying cellular immune responses to influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 in mouse and hamster models. The projects in the lab include assessing the role of T and B cell immunity on virus infection and transmission, evaluating innovative virus vaccines, as well as developing assays and reagents for hamster immunology, and identifying T cell epitopes in different viruses and species.The lab is housed in the Department of Medicine at WashU located in Saint Louis, MO. The lab is housed on a floor with several other laboratories that study virus-host interactions. We have ongoing collaborations with labs in many other departments in the University including Molecular Microbiology and Pathology & Immunology.

Working Conditions:
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Salary Range:
Base pay is commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:
- PhD in immunology, molecular biology, microbiology, or a similar field.
- Have published one or more papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to guide research projects.
- Background in or desire to learn bioinformatics analysis techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to mentor students and technicians.
- Excellent speaking, reading and writing skills.
