40Position Summary
Our lab focus on the understanding of tumor metabolism, metabolism-tumor microenvironment interactions, and mechanisms of treatment escape in sarcoma. The ultimate goal of our group is the development of new targeted therapeutics to sarcoma and the improvement of current cancer treatments.In our laboratory, we utilize a variety of metabolomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and molecular biology techniques to elucidate the underlying biology of sarcoma and identify therapeutically actionable targets in a highly supportive and collaborative environment. In this pursuit, we make extensive use of both mouse models and primary tissues.
We are looking for a collaborative and motivated individual to fill this laboratory technician position. This role will include participating in ongoing research projects, assisting with managing the day-to-day infrastructure of the lab, and maintaining mouse colonies. Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and a willingness to perform mouse work is necessary.
Assists with laboratory duties in a research setting; performs routine tests with direction from the supervisor, manager or higher-level technician.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains files on research and assists with data entry.
- Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A background in biology, biochemistry, microbiology or related field is highly desirable.
- Previous basic or translational laboratory experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.

$16.54 - $22.35 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
