The Bioinformatics Research Assistant will support ongoing genomic and bioinformatics projects examining the genetic and metabolic determinants of fetal growth and maternal metabolism in pregnancy. The position involves analysis of large-scale genomic data, including genome-wide association studies (GWAS), computation of genetic risk scores, and integrative modeling of genotype–phenotype interactions in racially diverse maternal–fetal cohorts.This position offers the opportunity to work at the interface of computational genetics, maternal–fetal medicine, and precision nutrition within a highly collaborative and translational research environment. Provides critically complex research and experimentation for departments, allowing the advancement of scientific analysis and discovery. The research assistant may participate and/or present on the research developed or the established work of relevant projects.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists research studies with implementation of: existing algorithms and computer software for analyzing omics-based data sets [high-throughput, massively parallel genomic/proteomic/clinical.]; data management and analysis solutions that assist in storage, investigation and dissemination of large data sets.
Works with research team to develop new algorithms to support studies.
Assists with reporting of methods, data and results.
