WashU invites applications for a full-time Senior Director of Data, Reporting and Advancement Applications. The position will support the University Advancement’s mission by providing an integrated, cloud-based technology ecosystem that will facilitate and amplify success in fundraising. This system, ARCH, will serve as the university’s system of record for alumni and donors and deepen engagement with alumni, organizations, and friends on behalf of the university.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Specifically, the position will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
Lead the data and reporting team responsible for requirements gathering and for the development of reporting, outputs, and dashboards built within the suite of reporting tools, including Salesforce Reports, CRM analytics, and Tableau.
Manage the process of gathering and documenting requirements and designing and developing reports, outputs, and dashboards to meet the needs of stakeholders.
Responsible for oversight of the development of data architecture and for carrying out data and reporting strategy and providing training and guidance to University Advancement staff outside the Advancement Systems teams with responsibilities related to data analytics and reporting, including Data Services and Data Analytics teams.
Provide guidance and direction on day-to-day report development work.
Collaborate with business users to ensure that information needs are being met; participate in and help lead agile ceremonies for the reporting team.
Define and oversee development of extract, transform, and load (ETL) process and reporting structures.
Participate in leadership meetings to inform about reporting strategy and current state of development.
Act as a member of the reporting development team as well as lead to ensure that critical work is delivered on schedule.
Serve as a technical data steward, working with the team to support the classification, protection, use and quality of Advancement data.

Physical Effort
The position requires domestic travel up to 10% of the time to attend quarterly University Advancement Systems meetings and as needed for conferences and other processional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis or closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
- This position also requires seven years' of relevant experience, including at least seven years of experience in each of the following:
- experience in a higher education setting analyzing data for complex fundraising structures for enterprise-level system implementation;
- experience in a higher education technology environment, including utilizing Salesforce Reports for development and administration;
- experience developing IT strategic plans, including supervisor experience and hiring and mentoring a high-performance team to meet fundraising technology initiatives;
- experience with relational database models and reporting architecture, including ETL processes, ODS/EDW, and RDBMS design and development; and
- experience using SQL/SQL Server, CRM Analytics, and Tableau.
