The Manager EPIC EHR Software Configuration (Beacon / Research / Genomics Applications) is responsible for the strategic configuration, support, and optimization of Epic Beacon, Epic Research, and Genomics-related applications within the organization's electronic health record (EHR) ecosystem. This leader ensures the seamless integration of clinical oncology workflows, research protocols, and genomic data to support precision medicine and evidence-based care delivery. Works closely with key stakeholders to oversee team activities by ensuring work is on track and adheres to defined timelines, budgets, identifying, escalating and resolving associated risks and ensuring overall design delivers the necessary solution that meets end user needs. They will provide application management, support and guidance through the Epic software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis and design. The Manager EPIC EHR Software Configuration distinguishes themselves from other managers by possessing knowledge of and working with Epic specific software applications.The Manager collaborates closely with clinical, research, and IT stakeholders to ensure applications are designed, implemented, and maintained in alignment with institutional goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This role manages a specialized team of analysts and technical professionals dedicated to delivering innovative and reliable Epic solutions that advance clinical research and genomics-driven patient care.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees configuration, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Epic Beacon, Epic Research, and Genomics modules, ensuring alignment with clinical and research workflows.
Leads and mentors a team of Epic analysts, providing direction, prioritization, and professional development to ensure high-quality delivery and staff engagement.
Partners with oncology, research, pathology, and genomics stakeholders to translate business and clinical requirements into effective Epic solutions.
Ensures the integration of genomic data and external laboratory interfaces (e.g., molecular pathology systems, genomic repositories) within Epic.
Manages project timelines, budgets, and deliverables; proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks.
Serves as product manager for Epic Research and Beacon functionalities, including study build, research billing compliance, and investigational drug workflows.
Drives initiatives related to precision medicine, clinical trial management, and biomedical data interoperability across Epic and ancillary systems.
Collaborates with data governance and analytics teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility for research and clinical use.
Maintains expert knowledge of Epic software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to build, testing, training, and deployment.
Ensures adherence to institutional policies, security standards, and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, FDA, IRB, etc.).

$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
