About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Tax Analyst to fulfill the role of Customer Tax Reporting subject matter expert within the Enterprise Customer Tax Utility in Shared Service Operations. This position will serve as a resource for a team that is responsible for tax form validation activities for the lines of business that are supported by the Tax Utility, own recurring controls monitoring within the operations team, serve as a key resource in technology and process changes, and own control documentation maintenance. 2024 form validation volumes numbered more than 16,000 across W-9 and W-8 series forms, including a substantial number of W-8IMY structures.
In this role, you will:
- Act as a subject matter expert on tax form validation processes and technology platforms.
- Ensure system and procedure interactions with Withholding and Reporting processes are efficient and producing the correct result.
- Act as a subject matter expert on operational controls within the Tax Utility organization, maintaining required control documentation through change routines, performing walk throughs of those controls to interested parties, and performing periodic control monitoring activities.
- Maintain all required process flows and ensure desktop procedures are reviewed and updated according to required schedules.
- Provide change management support for subject matter, ensuring milestones are completed timely and stakeholders are engaged as necessary.

Required Qualifications, US:
- 5+ years of Corporate Tax experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with tax form validation, withholding and reporting requirements related to IRS customer tax reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- Experience in tax operations, tax risk mitigation, or tax compliance in a large financial institution
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
- Knowledge and understanding of tax: reporting, filing, remittance, processing, initiatives, and strategies.
- Strong risk management and compliance skills
- Knowledge and understanding of technical tax withholding compliance (1099 INT, 1099 MISC, 1099-B, 1042-S, IMY Reporting to Beneficiary Owners)
- Experience working in a large, complex, dynamic organization with multiple business groups and broad geographic reach.
- A strong collaborator with experience working cross functionally to initiate action and effectively manage change.
- Experience developing long-range strategic plans, leveraging prioritization tools and/or approaches.
- Experience with project or program management.
- A record of accomplishment demonstrating strong influencing, collaboration and decision-making skills across various stakeholder teams to ensure alignment and drive progress toward a common business objective.
- Experience working in a risk driven environment.
- Strong presentation (verbal and written) communications skills are required, as this role will be required to provide analysis and make presentations to senior leaders, and corporate executives.
- Experience leading teams in development of key performance metrics, dashboards or scorecards.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00Benefits
