About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst for Middle Market Banking.


In this role, you will:

  • Pro-actively support the Line of Business (LOB) leadership from a finance perspective, including providing consultative financial support and business analytics to enable business strategy, activities and initiatives.

  • Build relationships with business division leaders and functional support leaders and the finance Team.

  • Offer cross-business line support as needed with respect to financial subject matter expertise.

  • Review request for any above standard deposit rates and provide perspective and recommendations to Market and Division Executives based on commercial banking’s deposit strategy.

  • Ensure proper preparation of financial materials for operating reviews and reports; provide financial support for projects and other ad-hoc financial analysis

  • Review and present monthly financial statements to understand business drivers causing variances to prior periods and forecast.

  • Develop, design, implement and modify financial models and tools for business analysis; anticipating issues based on knowledge of business trends and assisting with direction and solutions.

  • Assist one or more Lead Finance Analyst in providing high quality support and by delivering data driven business insights and solutions. The Lead will provide day-to-day oversight of your work and completion of deliverables

  • Train, coach, and mentor junior team members.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

  • Commercial

  • Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Business Objects, or other data management, reporting and query tools

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization

  • Self-starter with a strategic business focus

  • Experience analyzing and explaining commercial banking financial statements with a good understanding of Deposit and Loan Products

  • Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership

  • Adaptable with the Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and achieve results

  • Knowledge and understanding of Commercial Banking industry, exposure to Corporate Banking is helpful

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Familiarity with or exposure to Capital Attribution under Basel

  • Familiarity with PowerBI/Tableau platforms
