About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- The Senior Software Engineer (Oracle PL/SQL, MS SQL T-SQL, Autosys, and ETL) is a senior technical role focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise database solutions. The position emphasizes expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, as well as integrating data workflows using ETL tools and job scheduling through Autosys. The Lead Engineer collaborates with stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions while ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards. This role also includes mentoring team members and leading complex projects.
- Experience in Software Oracle PL/SQL and MS SQL T-SQL development experience.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica) and Autosys for job scheduling.
- Proven track record of database design and optimization for high-performance systems.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps principles.
- Advanced Oracle PL/SQL (e.g., packages, dynamic SQL, materialized views).
- Proficiency in MS SQL Server T-SQL (e.g., complex queries, indexing, triggers).
- Expertise in Autosys job scheduling, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- ETL tools expertise (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, or equivalent).
- Performance Optimization:
- Strong query optimization and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in performance monitoring tools (e.g., AWR, SQL Profiler).
- Additional Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database systems such as Azure SQL or Oracle Cloud is a plus.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for process automation.
- This role requires a highly skilled database professional who can lead technical initiatives, ensure operational excellence, and drive innovation in data management and processing solutions.
- Experience/exposure to .Net (Web development)
Job Expectations:
- Database Design and Development
- Design and develop database schemas, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions using Oracle PL/SQL and MS SQL T-SQL.
- Build and manage efficient database systems for high-transaction, enterprise-scale applications.
- ETL Development and Data Integration
- Design and implement ETL workflows to facilitate data migration and integration across multiple systems.
- Optimize ETL pipelines for performance and maintain data accuracy during transfers.
- Autosys Job Management
- Develop, configure, and monitor batch jobs using Autosys to automate workflows and data processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Autosys job failures and ensure operational efficiency.
- Performance Optimization
- Conduct query tuning, indexing, and other optimizations to enhance database and ETL performance.
- Analyze and resolve database performance bottlenecks and technical issues.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Lead database development projects and mentor junior team members.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement robust security measures for databases and ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Innovation and Automation
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, including Autosys, and improve database and ETL processes.
