Wells Fargo is seeking an Environmental Investment Analyst to join our Renewable Energy & Environmental Finance team in Commercial Banking.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the financial, commercial, and technical research and underwriting of highly structured, tax-oriented equity investments in renewable energy and other clean technology projects

  • Conduct technical due diligence and portfolio administration as necessary

  • Provide in-depth analysis on relevant industry trends in the renewable energy and other clean technology spaces

  • Produce various written documents, including origination requests and investment memoranda

  • Identify, analyze, structure, and model renewable energy project tax equity financings, in conjunction with more experienced staff

  • Coordinate the process for internal approval of transactions, including credit research, underwriting, legal, accounting, regulatory, and tax matters

  • Review financial, commercial, and technical due diligence as assigned

  • Interact with internal business partners with relationships in the renewable energy and clean technology sectors

  • Build relationships with customers and contribute to the negotiation of investment financing details


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Environmental Investment Origination experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Business or related field

  • Experience with renewable energy finance/investing

  • Project finance experience preferred

  • Passion for renewable energy as demonstrated either through education or work experience

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organization, and ability to solve complex or abstract problems

Job Expectations:

  • Hybrid work model, 4 days in the office and 1 day remote

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$100,800.00 - $179,200.00
