About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Securities Research Specialist for Corporate Finance (CF) group within Corporate and Investment.

The Corporate Finance (CF) team provides differentiated and value-added content and advice for key clients and for bankers and product specialists across CIB. The CF practice provides product agnostic financing / M&A structuring advice, liability management, credit ratings advice, and technical expertise on tax, accounting, and structuring matters.


In this role, you will:

  • Serve as an individual contributor role in the Global Research and Economics Group supporting Wells Fargo Securities
  • Be responsible independently or as part of a team for research direction of industries, markets and companies
  • Provide research coverage with a wide knowledge of the business, marketplace and clients
  • Engage business to provide exceptional service to clients
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Advising client on policy decisions such as optimal capital structure, capital allocation, return of capital etc. utilizing modeling and quantitative tools.
  • Offering solutions on various corporate finance topics such as cost of capital, valuation, leverage, liquidity, share repurchases, dividend payouts, pensions etc.
  • Advise on complex M&A and strategic separations / subsidiary redeployment (spinoffs, split-offs, Reverse Morris Trusts), IPO structures, dispositions, cross-border M&A, structuring, JV structure, joint bids, break-ups etc.
  • Work on Monte-Carlo simulation to analyze potential deviation in company’s growth forecasts and its impact on financials.
  • Supporting end to end deal execution processes from model development to client pitch to transaction execution.
  • Create complex excel models to analyze large data sets and aim to incorporate VBA/Python automation in-order to reduce time required to execute such models.
  • Support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company.
  • Take accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation, and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions.
  • There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.


Job Expectations:

  • Investment banking experience of 4+ years post MBA / CA (CFA certification would be an added advantage)
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and statistical skills
  • Strong financial modeling and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • Familiar with US company filings and accounting standards
  • Experience in Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
