About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Advisory Markets Lead to work within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Data Management organization, part of the CIB Chief Operating Office. The CIB Data Management organization provides thought leadership into line of business data strategy, supports the development of a simplified data environments to support line of business needs and serves our internal business customers through data advisory and data management support services. This individual would own and drive delivery of the CIB Data Strategy for the Markets business. This is a hybrid role with an in office expectation.

The ideal candidate will be expected to partner or consult with resources across the line of business, technology, control, and various enterprise risk functions. Candidates will collaborate closely with peers and senior leadership to optimize the current operating and business engagement model for this team. Candidates for this role will have strong project management and leadership experience, preferably in a matrixed environment, and will be expected to work productively across a diverse team of data management and business execution focused individuals.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique data challenges impacting the CIB Markets business and requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs
  • Liaise with key data consumers to understand, challenge and rationalize requirements before partnering with Product Owners to document, test and deliver requirements.
  • Partner with Markets business and Data Science teams to define and deliver AI tooling and innovation in support of business objectives.
  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Partner with business and data providers groups companywide to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
  • Support development and production of senior management updates on Data Strategy and Data Deliveries (including OKR reporting, MBRs, status reporting, etc.)
  • Ability to context switch and jump from priority to priority quickly


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of banking experience with direct experience of Markets business activities (e.g. securities and derivatives trading)
  • 5+ years experience in a Data Management role or roles overseeing change in Finance, Risk or Operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with strategic business focus
  • Knowledge of Client Lifecycle Management processes beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to present complex financial, risk management and policy topics tailored to audiences of varying seniority and functions in order to create understanding and influence decisions
  • Ability to effectively form a story through data analysis
  • Leadership skills including the ability to work and influence successfully within a matrixed environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • SQL or similar data querying skills beneficial

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$120,400.00 - $287,600.00
