Wells Fargo is seeking a solution driven engineer that will work with our internal engineers and engineers from our external credit card cobrand partners such as Expedia, BILT and Choice to create and maintain (1) integration points between our companies, (2) joint defensive capabilities such as akamai, gateway, SDK and internal platform protections, (3) improvements to our API and platform SLA and overall metrics, in line with contractual agreements with cobrand partners, (4) understand in detail our existing integration points, APIs, flow diagrams and data contracts with our cobrand partners.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of development experience with REST API, Java J2EE technologies
- 3+ years experience working on Scrum teams
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of technical leadership experience, leading technical teams, driving technology roadmaps
- Experience working in a client facing position where good communication and collaboration skills were necessary and the ability to meet frequently with engineers from other companies that we work with
- Ability to get hands on to understand high-level architecture specifically for the credit cards platform and use APIs to solve cobrand partners development and integration needs.
- Ability to help design and maintain external APIs and components that can be used in customer flows, and are reusable across clients.
- Influence over authority - this role will work closely with external engineers, so candidates must be able to influence the conversation, using data and facts, to drive to outcomes.
- Broad development experience with core Java technologies
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: distributed and client server technologies.
