About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Automation) to modernize and automate our network infrastructure using Ansible, Python, GitHub workflows, and Nautobot. This role leads the design and deployment of scalable, secure automation solutions that drive efficiency, agility, and compliance across enterprise networks.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in implementing network security policies across routers and firewalls
  • Lead the development and deployment of automation frameworks using Ansible, Python, and GitHub workflows to manage large-scale network infrastructure.
  • Design and maintain High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD/LLD) for automated network solutions.
  • Integrate and extend Nautobot for network source-of-truth and automation workflows.
  • Utilize GitHub Copilot to accelerate code development and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using diagnostic and simulation tools.
  • Drive lifecycle management of network hardware and software through automated pipelines.
  • Lead secure implementation of network changes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security standards.
  • Identify and remediate gaps in existing network processes through automation and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align automation initiatives with business goals.
  • Identify gaps, risks and issues and navigate organizational structure to resolve them
  • Perform quarterly proactive network testing to ensure proper functioning and reliability of the network
  • Investigate and remediate network capacity related issues
  • Apply knowledge of security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions
  • Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis
  • Partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams in order to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of experience in Network/ Infrastructure Automation.
  • Proficiency in Python, YAML scripting and Ansible playbook development.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, and CI/CD pipelines - Jenkins, OCP.
  • Experience with AAP, Nautobot or similar network automation platforms.
  • Understanding of network technologies including WLAN, SDN, Routing, Switching, Security, IPT, DDI, and SD-WAN, WAN interconnects.
  • Certifications such as Automation, or GenAI.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Background in automations and Gen AI environment

Job Expectations:

  • Flexibility to support implementations outside of standard business hours.
  • Deliver high-quality technical artifacts, engineering solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date automation roadmap and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Serve as a technical leader in automation for Access and Data Center environments.
