About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer as part of the Auto Lending Data & Insights team within Consumer Technology. The Consumer Auto Lending organization is in the midst of a multi-year technology modernization across the Originations, Servicing, and Data delivery platforms. This role is a key enabler in the development of robust and scalable solutions to implement the Data Strategy in support of key business deliverables.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables

  • Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting

  • Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

  • Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals

  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

  • Lead pilots, proof of concept technical evaluations, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives

  • Remediate security vulnerabilities and implement technology mandates in a timely matter to remain system compliant.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Data Engineering or Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • 3+ years of experience in Database technologies such as Oracle, Mongo DB, ETL: using tools and frameworks for data integration and pipeline development

  • 2+ years of experience of Application Development in Java or .NET frameworks

  • 2+ years of experience with Agile tools - methodology and JIRA

  • 1+ years of Cloud native application development experience (OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes)

  • 1+ years of CI/CD (Continuous Integration Continuous Development), DevOps, and SRE principles


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with application and service design and architecture (microservice), including testing/launching software products

  • Thorough understanding of cloud computing concepts like landing zone, Storage and Database.

  • Thorough understanding of Cloud service offerings on Data, Analytics, AI/ML.

  • Exposure to Cloud governance and logging/monitoring tools.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences

  • Strong understanding of core resiliency and reliability tenets

  • Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure.

  • Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
