Wells Fargo is seeking a Java Lead Specialty Software Engineer in Technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Securities Lending team building solutions for Wells Capital Markets technology organization, and we’re looking for individuals to join us on our automation and modernization journey. If you’re passionate about solving complex and mission critical problems with leading-edge innovative technologies through solid engineering practices this role could be perfect for you. In this role you will be building out of strategic cloud complaint platforms to support various strategic business initiatives. This role requires very strong technical knowledge of Java and a solid foundation of server design methodologies and multithreading. Successful applicant will help enhance, build, and deliver frameworks and business applications using micro services.

In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
Lead, design, develop, test and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
Mentor less experienced software engineers
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years Java development experience
5+ years of Object-Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) experience
4+ years of Capital Markets Technology related experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment like Front-office Trading (or) Middle-office (or) Risk Management
4+ years of DevOps tool set based continuous incremental delivery experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Desired Qualifications:
2+ years working Kubernetes like container technology
2+ years working public cloud provider such as Azure or GCP
2+ years using cloud based open source Distributed Caching technology
2+ years of experience working with opensource messaging technologies on cloud such as Apache Kafka/Confluent Enterprise
Securities Lending / Prime business experience is a plus
Job Expectations:
Join and lead a high performing Agile team developing software in Java using object-oriented principals and design patterns
Work directly with Business Analysts, Traders, Sales & Operations personnel, to clearly understand requirements
Create thorough designs – and ensure that these designs integrate well into existing architecture and frameworks
Oversee and/or create/modify SQL database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, etc.) and document store such as MongoDB
Guide the team through thorough unit testing & documentation of development activities
Participate in ‘Peer-reviews’ of source code and provide constructive feedback
Ensure compliance & risk management requisites are appropriately met; work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
Assure quality, maintainability, and extensibility for supported systems and risk applications
Provide Level 3 production support as required
