About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Data Management Senior Manager to join the Chief Operating Office (COO) Data Domain (DD) team responsible and accountable for the Data Management Policy implementation and adherence for the COO organization. Additionally, the COO DD Team is seeking to automate and simplify data management service offerings across the produce, distribute and use stages aiding in data risk mitigation, improving data management efficacy and driving efficiency gains.
This experienced data management professional will lead the Business Enablement Team managing the risk/control environment for the domain, required councils and forums for DMP compliance, reporting across the domain, as well as taking lead on testing activities across the broader function. This leader is expected to evolve and optimize the Business Enablement services, routines, processes and reporting to ensure ongoing compliance with DMP policy, increase the effectiveness of COO data management activities and deliver a best-in-class experience for our sub-domain teams.
This role will have a significant impact on the understanding, usability and value delivered by the COO DD Team and the DMP implementation across the COO organization.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate across teams: Partner effectively with Chief Operating Office (COO) Sub-Domain Teams, counterpart Business Data Leads (BDL) and Data Management and Insights (DMI) Teams, Technology, Control Management, and across the Global Operations Data, Analytics and Reporting Teams on policy updates, impact assessments, implementation strategy for COO and to evolve and optimize the Business Enablement services, routines, processes, reporting and partner interactions.
- Manage risk and controls: Implement, manage and execute the risk/control environment for the domain inclusive of expected and domain specific controls.
- Lead compliance governance: Establish required councils and forums for Data Management Policy (DMP) compliance (COO Data Council, Data Use Assessment Panel, Non-Adherence Oversight) along with monitoring of execution activities.
- Develop reporting capabilities: Build and continuously refine reporting suite inclusive metrics, trends, aggregations, early warnings, etc. for COO Data council and sub-domains to support data driven decision making.
- Drive automation and efficiency: Identify and implement automation to simplify data management execution activities, processes, enable greater self-service and drive efficiencies.
- Oversee risk and audit processes: Coordination and oversight of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Exam Management processes.
- Implement and optimize policy: Responsible for the implementation, change management and ongoing optimization of Data Management Policy for the Chief Operating Office.
- Centralize communication and resources: Provide centralized domain communications, education and execution materials including a domain wide SharePoint site.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team: Manage a team with data, risk, reporting, analytics, technology, and process experience
This role has a high level of exposure to data, analytics, reporting, modeling, control and technology leadership across the COO organization as well as to partner organizations across the company. There is a significant opportunity to influence the future of data governance and management within the COO organization and at Wells Fargo along with gain exposure to some of the most innovative areas of data management, analytics, and technology in the industry today.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Enterprise policy implementation: Proven experience implementing enterprise-wide Data Management Policies or comparable data governance frameworks (e.g., Data Management Body of Knowledge (DAMA-DMBOK), Basel Committee on Banking Supervision 239 (BCBS239), or Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)).
- Cross-functional leadership: Demonstrated success leading high-impact, cross-functional business initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Data lifecycle expertise: Deep understanding of the data supply chain, lifecycle, including data production, distribution and consumption across complex organizations.
- Control environment design: Expertise in designing, implementing and managing hybrid control environment that balances expected and specific controls.
- Stakeholder engagement: Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across business and technology teams.
- Data management tools knowledge: Familiarity with data quality, metadata management, and data lineage tools and practices.
- Industry experience: Experience in regulated industries, financial services is highly preferred.
- Problem-solving mindset: Curious problem solver who excels at listening to customer needs and relentlessly pursues solutions.
- Technical fluency: Knowledge and understanding of Cloud, Analytic and Agile concepts.
- Team leadership: Proven ability to direct, develop, and motivate team members.
Job Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Hybrid work schedule. Must be able to work from one of the approved job posting locations three (3) days in office & two (2) days remote.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
