About this role:

This position integrates responsibilities from both coverage and product functions within the Japan Banking team. The Analyst will be a key member, supporting senior bankers in origination, execution, and client coverage across a broad range of products and services, including Debt Capital Markets, M&A, Lending, Cash Management (Global Payment & Liquidity), and other financial solutions. Wells Fargo Japan Banking team is currently experiencing exceptional and accelerated growth, establishing itself as a dynamic and influential presence in the Japanese market.


In this role, you will:

  • Contribute significantly to transaction execution, including preparing materials, supporting and coordinating due diligence and negotiations.
  • Provide support to deliver the full platform of Wells Fargo’s capabilities that include Credit and other Risk Management Solutions, Investment Banking and Capital Markets, Corporate Banking, FX Solutions, Digital Transformation and any other areas of focus subject to business needs.
  • Provide strategic support to senior bankers in coverage and execution, including idea generation and interaction with existing and prospective clients.
  • Take ownership of preparing written materials, such as pitch books, proposals, client presentations, and supporting analyses.
  • Support logistical requirements for client engagements, including roadshows.
  • Develop expertise across a range of financial products, including Debt, M&A, Liability Management, and ESG-related products.
  • Remain informed about key market developments and maintain a strong understanding of the target client base and relevant market dynamics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within Banking.


Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Native-level Japanese (spoken and written) and fluent English.
  • Must obtain and maintain all relevant JSDA licenses required for the role.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Investment Banking demonstrated through prior experience, internships, training, or education.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with solid financial modeling experience preferred.
