Senior Securities Research Specialist -M&A

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Securities Research Specialist. The role involves working closely with the US deal team on M&A deal executions, pitchbooks, valuations, peer analysis, opportunity analysis, and other industry-related materials, with significant opportunities to learn, develop and work as an integral member of the business.
In this role, you will:
- Work on various work streams that form key components of M&A Buy or Sell side deals (pitching and execution)
- Develop M&A ideas - target or acquiror or sponsor screening followed by extensive profiling (strip profiles, deep dive profiles covering company overview, share price performance and other shareholder analyses, brokers' outlook and commentary, management biographies and so on)
- Assist in preparing pitchbook components including industry overviews, benchmarking, deep dive company profiles, historical multiple evolution, detailed M&A opportunity analysis, case studies and credentials
- Work on financial analysis, modeling and valuation (trading comparables, transaction comparables, DCF and LBO)
- Develop an understanding of key M&A drivers, trends and market activity. Deliver various M&A newsletters related to market update
- Work independently on complex projects and deliver high quality deliverables
- Effectively communicate with key stakeholders in the US
- Review deliverables completed by juniors and train them on various knowledge areas
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- MBA Finance, CA or MS Finance from a premier institute, with 4-8 years of relevant experience. CFA is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial concepts and company valuation techniques. Knowledge of investment banking concepts including M&A as a product will be an added advantage
- Strong inclination towards building a career in Investment Banking, especially M&A
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders
- Strong logical, analytical skills and a systematic problem-solving approach
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality of deliverables
- Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
- Results driven, accountable and ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies, with an understanding of their applications in business processes
Job Expectations
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office applications, especially Power Point and Excel
- Knowledge of data and analytics platforms such as FactSet, Mergermarket, Dealogic, LSEG (formerly Refinitiv), Pitchbook, S&P Capital IQ and Factiva
- Impeccable communication and interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders
- Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality of deliverables
- Ability to provide innovative ideas to efficiently execute the tasks
- Ability to identify proactive ways to contribute to firm's goals & mission
