About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Retail Investment Research Analyst in Global Securities Research (GSR) as part of Wells Fargo Investment Institute (WIFI) in Wealth & Investment Management (WIM). This role will support investment research for equities where you will be responsible for providing timely, well-supported advice on equities securities to retail Financial Advisors and Wealth Managers. Advice and guidance on equity securities is delivered through written publications and personal interactions with Financial Advisors. The role will also support additional internal partners as a subject matter expert on equities.

In this role, you will:

  • Research individual securities to isolate critical variables and formulate sound investment advice by gathering, reading, and analyzing information
  • Present commentary and equity sector advice to portfolio management teams within other Wells Fargo lines of business that have established relationships with GSR
  • Cover at least one equity sector and potentially more
  • Contribute equity ideas to WFII’s thematic equity recommended lists, develop skills to help manage/co-manage the recommended lists.
  • Proactively respond to developments/news of high interest to retail financial advisors & clients
  • Review of financial documents, news reports, press releases and regulatory filings and other event notices to determine the scope of the event and any action that needs to be taken by the FA/client
  • Use AIpowered tools to gather and organize fundamental and economic data
  • Perform financial analysis
  • Develop and maintaining databases and forecasts to evaluate appropriate valuations
  • Write research reports to reflect company, sector, and market developments

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Retail Investment Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years' experience in investment research related to equity securities
  • Experience covering one of the sectors of the market
  • Experience speaking with Financial Advisors to answer questions and deliver guidance related to individual investment securities
  • Experience publishing clear and concise research publications on equities for either internal company use or for broader publication
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and execute on sound investment decisions on individual securities
  • Knowledge and understanding of investment research, portfolio analysis or quantitative finance
  • Knowledge and understanding of Investment tools such as Bloomberg or Factset applications
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Able to work in a highly collaborative and flexible environment
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or MBA
