About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Automation Quality Senior Software Engineer to join the Open Banking Money Movement team within the Digital Technology Innovation group. This position will utilize a thorough understanding of applicable technology to assist with technology innovation, product development, testing and delivery. As part of an Agile team, you will be responsible for analyzing complex business requirements and design specifications for conversion into user stories and tasks within allocated sprint sessions.
In this role, you will:
Lead quality engineering and automation strategy for large‑scale enterprise applications
Design and build BDD‑based automation frameworks using Cucumber, Karate, JBehave, and Gherkin
Develop automated tests across API, microservices, UI, integration, and end‑to‑end layers
Implement UI automation using Selenium or equivalent tools
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
Drive shift‑left testing and TDD practices within Agile teams
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Validate REST/JSON APIs, including security and traffic policies via API gateways (Apigee)
Partner with engineering teams to ensure backward compatibility and production stability
Support releases and production issues, including on‑call rotation and root‑cause analysis
Mentor teams and influence quality best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / Test Automation
4+ years of experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Karate, JBehave)
4+ years of experience with API and microservices testing and UI automation experience
4+ years of Java/J2EE experience and Spring framework experience such as Spring Boot
4+ years of Web Services experience
4+ years of Apigee API Gateway
4+ years of experience with monitoring/log analysis tools such as Splunk
4+ years of experience with Agile delivery and modern SDLC practices
Desired Qualifications:
8+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions for test automation
Knowledge and understanding of test-driven application development
Strong communication skills and ability to lead through influence
