About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an engineer owns the enterprise Grafana visualization capability and provides technical leadership in building business‑flow‑centric dashboards and AI‑augmented observability experiences.
This role combines platform ownership, visualization architecture, and agentic AI enablement to deliver scalable, intelligent, and actionable observability views for application, SRE, and business stakeholders.


In this role, you will:

  • Own the architecture, stability, scalability, and lifecycle of the enterprise Grafana platform.
  • Define standards for data sources, access controls, tenancy, and dashboard governance.
  • Partner with application and business teams to identify critical business journeys, transactions, and KPIs.
  • Design and build Grafana dashboards that act as the action and verification layer for agentic AI‑driven observability.
  • Define and enforce dashboard standards, templates, naming conventions, and reusable patterns.
  • Review complex dashboards to ensure performance, usability, and semantic consistency.
  • Drive integration of Grafana with metrics, logs, traces, synthetics, and events.
  • Reduce manual effort through configuration‑as‑code and reusable dashboard components.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Extensive experience in platform, infrastructure, or observability engineering with demonstrated technical leadership.
  • Deep hands‑on expertise with Grafana at enterprise scale.
  • Proven experience designing business‑flow or journey‑based dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of observability data (metrics, logs, traces).
  • Experience integrating AI/ML or agentic systems with operational platforms.


Required Qualifications for Europe, Middle East & Africa only:

  • Experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Prometheus‑based metrics and exporters.
  • Experience running Grafana in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
  • Experience building or integrating agentic AI systems (multi‑agent, GenAI, or autonomous workflows).
  • Prior ownership of enterprise visualization standards or CoEs.


Job Expectations:

  • Develop complex Grafana dashboards, visualizations, and alerts that represent application health, infrastructure dependencies, and end‑to‑end business flows for operational and leadership audiences.

  • Partner with application and platform teams to design dashboard migration strategies, including:

    • Data source transitions (e.g., Prometheus, cloud metrics, logs, traces)
    • Dashboard and alert compatibility assessments
    • Validation of metric semantics and labeling standards.
  • Design and optimize metrics ingestion and visualization pipelines, ensuring efficient use of telemetry data while controlling cardinality, retention, and storage costs.
